Meet Emily McGee, MFA
Director of Lesson Programming
Emily is a native Texan from Del Rio, with a passion for increasing access within the sport of swimming and diving for all families in Midland. With her extensive gymnastics and coaching background, Emily was hired by COM’s five program, initially, to support their diving program. She has been Director of the Swim and Gym programs now for 5 years; total with COM 13 years.
Emily’s favorite thing about her job is watching students’ faces as they learn new skills. As well as, witnessing how proud COM’s coaches are when this happens.
Emily’s role is to serve in expanding programming across COM. From swim lessons, camps, to family friendly events, Emily and her team work together to create intentional opportunities where West Texans can enjoy the water.

Meet Jessica McCoy, M.Ed.
Director of Community and Instruction
Jessica McCoy, brings over 20 years of swim coaching experience and a lengthy swimming career to COM. In early 2025, Jessica sold her swim school, Head Above Water Midland, and joined COM to help grow and increase the impact of the COM Learn to Swim Department.
As a former “Top 16” national swimmer, Jessica competed at multiple UIL state meets, broke National Age Group relay records, placed top within the state of Texas before graduating and swimming in college. Jessica was recruited by top Division I programs before swimming on full scholarship at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she double majored in Sociology and English Literature.
In 2024, she earned her M.Ed. in Kinesiology, specializing in Sports Management from The University of Texas at Austin.
Jessica now Co-Directs the COM’s Learn to Swim program with Emily McGee. Together they training instructors, expanding the impact of COM’s swim lesson curriculum, and introducing water-safety education for West Texas families. Jessica’s experience, background and leadership strengthens our mission to create life-changing environments where success is certain.
